About Edvantage
What is
Edvantage?
Edvantage
is a rewards program created especially for Ontario's education
community.
Members of
Edvantage and their families benefit from exclusive rewards, discounts
and offers from the partners affiliated with the program. These
partners include various retailers and businesses throughout Ontario.
Each Edvantage member has a membership card which has a dual role.
It serves as their federation/affiliate membership card as well
as their Edvantage membership card. In this way, members may access
discounts and savings through the partners by citing their membership
identification number.
OTIP (Ontario
Teachers Insurance Plan) provides insurance products and services
exclusively to Ontario's education community. OTIP administers Edvantage
on behalf of the teachers' federation/association. Edvantage is
a program primarily offered to members of the four teachers' federation/association
in Ontario.
The four
teacher federations include the Elementary Teachers' Federation
of Ontario (ETFO); Ontario Secondary School Teachers' Federation
(OSSTF); Ontario English Catholic Teachers Association (OECTA);
and the Association des enseignantes et des enseignants franco-ontariens
(AEFO). In addition to the main four teacher federations, Edvantage
is also offered to other select education groups in Ontario.

Partner
Benefits
As an Edvantage
partner, there is a great opportunity to gain new business and there
is no direct cost to be involved in the program. Your indirect cost
of being included in the program is two fold. The first is your
agreement to offer an exclusive benefit to Edvantage members, and
the second is your agreement to support Edvantage through various
contests, specials and giveaways.
Edvantage
is a unique opportunity for retailers and businesses in Ontario.
Edvantage ensures that partnerships are exclusively held with only
one company offering a product or service.
As an Edvantage
partner, your company will be recognized through the Edvantage Web
site, promotional materials, newsletters, media releases, and various
conferences and meetings throughout the year.

Benefit

The nature
of products and services offered through Edvantage is very diverse.
This is reflected in the range of offerings and discounts provided
through each partnership. One common factor among all is that the
benefit offered is exclusive to Edvantage members.

About
our Members
Currently, there are approximately 160,000 educators in Ontario.
These individuals represent our primary members in the Edvantage
program.
Examining
this group closer:
- 70% are over the age of 40
- 74% have a spouse
- 48% have children living at home
Why is
this relevant? Through the distribution of family cards, Edvantage
partners potentially may service an additional 200,000 members related
to our primary members.
Being aware
of our members enables us to offer products and services that are
important to them. This ensures that everyone's goals are met.

Staying
Informed
Whether an educator is just beginning their career or enjoying retirement,
they are eligible for Edvantage. In order to market to various age
groups of individuals, Edvantage promotes our partners through brochures,
magazine advertisements, and Edvantage e-News, among other publications.
As 78% of our members have Internet access at home, the Edvantage
Web site is the main avenue for conveying information. As such,
it is important that the partner pages reflect the most up-to-date
information.
In order
to ensure that the goals of Edvantage and of its partners are being
met, various reporting measures are used. Web site reports are available
to each partner which outlines the activity on each partner page.
